The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has just announced that it is “urging hospitals to accelerate advanced testing of people they suspect may have bird flu.”  A U.S. citizen just died from H5N1, and a child in San Francisco has been confirmed to have had H5N1 influenza—with no exposure to animals.   There was also a case in Missouri last year of someone testing positive for H5N1 without any known exposure to animals.  The H5N1 virus continues to mutate (or is being manipulated by humans) and is now spreading mammal-to-mammal in several species.  It will start spreading in human populations at any time yielding the worst pandemic in human history. 

The CDC does not admit these facts in its H5N1 warnings:

• Mammals that used to catch H5N1 only from contact with infected birds, now are getting H5N1 from other mammals—the virus has mutated to spread in mammal populations
• “H5N1 has affected several mammal species since 2003, thus raising concern because H5N1 mammalian adaptation could represent a risk not only for diverse wild mammals but also for human health.”
• “During 2003–2023, a total of 878 humans tested positive for the H5N1 virus, and 458 deaths were reported, indicating a lethality of ≈52%”
• “Mutations in the virus found in diverse mammal species, especially in the current panzootic, are of great concern. For instance, the T271A mutation reported in minks in Spain is also present in the H1N1 that produced a pandemic in 2009. . . . Moreover, some infected species, such as minks, may act as a mixing vessel for interspecies transmission between birds, mammals, and humans.”

In sum, mammals are catching and spreading the virus directly to other mammals, no exposure to wild birds causing the infections.  When this virus infects mammals they serve as “mixing vessels” that helps the virus find mutations that allow better transmissibility in other mammals—including humans.  H5N1 is going to either naturally mutate to be human-to-human contagious (and may already have in some places), or can be bioengineered and manipulated to have human-to-human transmissibility as the former Director of the CDC (no longer constrained by elected officials) has warned.

Many other biologists are also warning that we face an inevitable H5N1 pandemic, that could start now.  The Dec 2024 issue of Science magazine noted:

“No clear human-to-human transmission of H5N1 has been documented yet, but “this feels the closest to an H5 pandemic that I’ve seen,” says Louise Moncla, a virologist at the University of Pennsylvania. “If H5 is ever going to be a pandemic, it’s going to be now,” adds Seema Lakdawala, a flu researcher at Emory University.”

“A slew of recent findings all seem to suggest the risk of the current H5N1 clade in cattle and birds causing a pandemic is actually higher than previously thought. A study looking at blood samples from workers at H5N1-infected dairy farms in Michigan and Colorado found that many human infections go undetected, each one offering the bovine virus more chances to adapt to us. A preprint out this week indicates currently circulating clade 2.3.4.4b viruses are better at binding to human epithelial cells in the airways than previous versions of H5N1. And a Science paper out today shows in lab studies that a single mutation at one hemagglutinin site, dubbed 226L, is enough to shift the virus’ preference from the avian-type cell surface protein to human-type receptors. Many scientists had thought at least two mutations were required. A switch based on just one mutation “means the likelihood of it happening is higher,” says Jim Paulson of Scripps Research, one of the authors.”

Our government funded “Gain of Function” research in H5N1 a decade ago that was successful in getting mammal to mammal transmission of the virus in ferrets—mammals selected because their respiratory system is very similar to ours.  Worse, they published how they did this for any other nation, terrorist group, or individual to pursue this.

The CDC knows that a H5N1 pandemic is coming, inevitable—but is not allowed to honestly admit this and warn the public, continuing to broadcast the lie that H5N1 is a “low risk.”  The CDC is working to get early detection of H5N1 cases in humans in hospitals in hopes they can limit the spread of the virus; hence this recent press release encouraging hospitals to expedite testing and reporting of H5N1 cases.  The CDC admits in their latest press release that an H5N1 pandemic is coming and they are preparing for it– but they are clearly constrained from stating this honestly and openly.

This press release also included this:  “One of the newest investments, announced Thursday, was $211 million to support the development and long-term manufacturing capability of an RNA-based vaccine platform technology to combat evolving 21st century biothreats, including bird flu.”   They are preparing for the inevitable H5N1 pandemic, but cannot admitting that an H5N1 pandemic is coming.  Nor is this new, there has been work  to develop H5N1 vaccines for years.  But as H5N1continues to mutate, or is deliberately bioengineered, we cannot be certain if a vaccine would work (just as seasonal flu vaccines often do not work)–or whether or not it is safe, does not have serious bad side effects.

Despite these clear preparations for the coming H5N1 pandemic, in this same press release the CDC still continues it’s big lie of calling H5N1 “low risk.”

The former Director of the Center for Disease Control, no longer under political constraints, has defied the continued CDC lie that H5N1 is “low risk” to humans and has warned that an H5N1 pandemic is coming.

Former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield said an H5N1, “bird flu” pandemic will happen, it’s just a matter of when.  The virus continues to mutate and spread in dozens of mammal species.  Redfield said the lethality of the virus in humans is “probably somewhere between 25 and 50 percent mortality.”   Redfield said he knows exactly what has to happen for the virus to get to the point of human to human transmissibility because he’s done lab research on it.  Redfield warns, “it’s just a matter of time.”

Unlike the CDC which completely ignores the deliberate human manipulation of H5N1 virus (which Disaster Preparedness, Fortitude Ranch and Collapse Survivor have warned of), Redfield did warn that “there is greater risk for the disease to be lab-grown.”  “I know exactly what amino acids I have to change because in 2012, against my recommendation, the scientists that did these experiments actually published them,” he said. “So, the recipe for how to make bird flu highly infection for humans is already out there.”

In the “Alerts” section of the Collapse Survivor App you can read two past update threat warnings on H5N1.  The CDC will continue to lie and claim that H5N1 is “low risk” until it has started and it’s too late to prepare.

It is a national shame that the World Health Organization is more honest in warning that the “ongoing avian influenza outbreaks in animals post risk to humans.”  The CDC is politically controlled and constrained to not issue such honest warnings. 

When will the CDC ever admit that H5N1 is an inevitable human pandemic and extremely high risk?  Based on recent Covid-19 experience and the political pressure on the CDC not to “panic” citizens or undermine confidence in Big Government to protect them, the answer is they won’t until after the pandemic is well underway and it is far too late to get prepared or avoid exposure.

The CDC has a database of the Covid-19 virus history and their responses on their website, and from that you see how the CDC knew of this virus but failed to warn the public for months:

• Jan 20, CDC reports first laboratory-confirmed case in the U.S.; Chinese government confirms human-to-human transmission is driving the spread of the virus

• Jan 28, CDC recommends travelers avoid  non-essential travel to China

• February 25, 2020, CDC’s incident manager for COVID-19 response, warns that U.S. “may” experience school closings, workplace shutdowns, and the canceling of large gatherings and public events, stating that the “disruption to everyday life may be severe.” 
• March 13, 2020, U.S. Government finally declares a national emergency

The CDC never issued a threat alert on Covid-19, months after it had spread out of China and was clearly a developing pandemic.  They were months late in honestly warning about the pandemic threat, though other sources had long been saying a pandemic would clearly result.  Add to this the facts that the CDC denied any possibility that bioengineering, man-made experimentation could have led to the Covid-19 pandemic (later proved wrong), and the CDC covered up for years the fact that the U.S. had actually funded “gain of function” research at this Wuhan lab.  The U.S. government funded Chinese pandemic research to make more lethal viruses!  This is akin to funding Nazi Germany tank R&D in the 1930s.

The CDC’s priorities are funding biomedical and bioengineering research and maximizing their budget; convincing the public that the CDC and Government is protecting them and keeping them safe.  The CDC is controlled by top elected officials who don’t want the CDC to alarm the public or suggest that Government is not protecting the public.

An additional reason for CDC/elected official’s reluctance to honestly warn about H5N1 today comes from the public rejection of some state Governor’s overreaction to Covid-19 and abuse of government authority to force people to take ineffective or costly measures, or shut down.  Groups that oppose government mandates on dealing with a virus (that may be unconstitutional, and certainly violate natural rights) should be careful not to condemn honest government warnings about the virus.  People cannot make good decisions on how to prepare or react to a threat without accurate, honest, timely information.

Rather than honestly warning people that an H5N1 pandemic is inevitable, the CDC keeps reiterating its grotesquely dishonest lie that H5N1 remains “low risk” even as it continues to mutate and spread in more and more mammal populations, and humans are diagnosed with H5N1 despite no exposure to wild birds!  The CDC knows very well that a horrible H5N1 pandemic is coming, inevitable– but they continue to post the big lie that it is “low risk.”  As with their conduct during Covid-19, they will not honestly warn Americans about the risk until the pandemic is well underway.

H5N1 is going to be a far more deadly pandemic than Covid-19.  It has historically been 50-60% lethal in humans.  An American just died from H5N1.  The CDC has admitted that the virus is mutating, getting closer to human-to-human transmissibility.

How long will an H5N1 pandemic last?  The last bad global pandemic, incorrectly called the “Spanish Flu,” lasted about two years from spring 2018 into 2019 (and possibly a final wave in the winter of 2020).  That was a 1.5% lethal virus that killed 100 million—far worse than Covid-19, but far less than the historic 50% lethality rate of H5N1.  A double digit lethality virus will likely keep the economy shut down and yield loss of law and order and massive starvation and deaths from marauding for at least a year.  Your survival plans need to be capable of keeping your family alive for years, not months.
